The Regional Multiple Listing Service of Minnesota, Inc., doing business as NorthstarMLS, is the premier real estate multiple listing service in the Upper Midwest. As such, we provide updated, accurate listing data and relevant resources to more than 22,000 real estate professionals throughout the region, facilitating the American dream of homeownership. In 2021, NorthstarMLS facilitated over 112,900 real estate transactions valued at over $37.2 billion. We also provide real estate professionals access to nearly 20,000 active listings regularly, more than 2.25 million comparable and sold property records and millions of property tax records from the Upper Midwest. With our MLS and real estate resources, we’re equipping brokers, agents, appraisers and staff with the information and knowledge they need not only to make the property market function but also to make their businesses thrive.

Tim Dain, President & CEO

Tim Dain is CEO of NorthstarMLS. An industry innovator, Dain possesses a wealth of experience, including having served as vice president and general manager for real estate technology company Remine, as president and CEO of MARIS MLS, as director of MLS for ACTRIS and SIRMLS and as a REALTOR salesperson and broker-owner.

He was named to the Swanepoel Power 200 list of the most powerful and influential executives in the residential real estate industry in 2017, 2022 and 2023.

Our Team

Marshall Thomason, CFO

Marshall Thomason acts as CFO of NorthstarMLS, where he brings over 10 years of corporate finance and accounting leadership and experience to his role. Recently, he served as vice president, corporate controller for EasyKnock, a real estate financial technology provider. Before that, Thomason acted as head of finance at Remine, a real estate technology company.

Thomason brings a depth of expertise in forecasting, modeling and financial analysis, which helps NorthstarMLS evaluate strategic initiatives and partnerships while also building efficiencies into the team’s processes and reporting.

Our Team

Daryn Veer, CTO

Daryn Veer acts as CTO of NorthstarMLS. He brings 30+ years of IT experience to the team, including over 25 years as a software or database developer and eight years of system administration for companies including Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, 3M and Delta Airlines. After starting in April 2008 as database administrator, Veer has continued to take on additional responsibilities, most recently serving as director, information technology.

As CTO, Veer has taken on more customer-facing activities with the NorthstarMLS IT and QA teams reporting to him as they work to best meet our technological goals and objectives in serving our subscribers.

Our Team

Mike Bisping, COO

Mike Bisping, NorthstarMLS COO, has been with the organization since 2006 in a variety of roles. He garnered a wealth of experience from previous roles with the American Academy of Neurology and the American Arbitration Association.

As COO, Bisping oversees the day-to-day administration and operation of the NorthstarMLS Marketing, Help Desk and Rules & Regulations teams. In addition to bringing his deep organizational knowledge of NorthstarMLS, Bisping also has a CMLX-3 certification, the highest level of certification from the Council of Multiple Listing Services, further demonstrating his acumen.
